The Miyakoshi Family’s “Cottage and Garden” with Taisho-romantic Stained Glass Windows

The “Shimuan,” a cottage completed in 1920, was built by the ninth head of the Miyakoshi family, Shoji Miyakoshi. The cottage was built to celebrate the 33rd birthday of his wife Iha and to ward off bad luck. The garden “Seisen-en” surrounds the detached cottage. The stained glass windows in the cottage is of a national treasure quality…!
