Step Back in Time on the Elegant Komise Street

“Komise,” a strip of street designed to protect people from snow and summer sun, has been selected as one of the Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings as well as “One of the Best 100 Streets in Japan.” It still retains the atmosphere and townscape of the Edo period. Walking along the Komise Street, filled with history, you can enjoy a rare historic atmosphere.
