Fujisaki Hachimangu
Legend says that this shrine was built to house a Shinto deity within domain of Fujisaki Castle, built by a son of the Abe clan which had lost to Minamoto no Yoriyoshi and Yoshiie in the Former Nine Years’ War at the end of the Heian period, and later restored by the powerful naval leader Ando.
The main shrine is on the sloping earthen walls of Fujisaki Castle, and holds a stone marker from 1340, an account of the life of Ando, a Nijusanya Tower and other relics.
