Hirosaki Castle Snow Lantern Festival

The park is decorated with about 200 lanterns of varying size and style, as well as snow sculptures. The sight beckons you to a mystical world, with clusters of mini-igloos and snow sculptures bathed in flickering lantern light. As you gaze from the inner citadel toward Mt. Iwaki, you can see a lotus pond surrounded with nearly 300 mini-igloos lit with candles, creating a fantasia of snow and light. The main festival area is surrounded with large snow sculptures of historical buildings, slides, and more, offering lots of ways to enjoy the snow.
