Tachineputa no Yakata, Tachineputa Museum
This museum displays a giant 23 meter tall Tachineputa which can be seen up close as you descend a spiral slope. The big screen playback and audio recordings recreate the feeling of being at the festival itself, too.
Inside the museum there’s a free Neputa workshop tour and you can even try pasting paper onto a work in progress. For a fee you can try making a Kingyo Neputa or your own paper fan, too. From the outlook lounge you can see the Tsugaru plains and Hakkoda mountain range while enjoying locally sourced dishes.
