Nakadomari Sashimi and Soy Sauce Steeped Black Rockfish Zen(AKA Nakadomari Mebaru Zen)
Nakadomari is Aomori’s #1 port for black rockfish, a delicacy known by locals as “Mebaru”. In recent times, a popular event aptly named, “Nakadomari Mebaru Zen”, has come about and helped invigorate the region. With special dishes such as a high-grade Mebaru sashimi platter(head included), high-grade Mebaru steeped in soy sauce(“Fire gourmet”) and squid sashimi rice(squid served separately), there is something for everyone to enjoy! The meal is sourced locally with the Mebaru caught in the Kodomari region and the rice, of the Tsugaru Roman variety, being grown in the Nakasato region.
Since its inception almost 2 years ago, over 40,000 meals have been served.
