Camping
Ashino Park Auto Campground
The campground is located on the lakeside of Ashino Park, which is famous for its cherry blossoms. The lakeshore, the suspension bridge, and the floating bridge all create a serene atmosphere. Nearby are the Dazai Osamu Memorial Hall “Shayokan” and Tsugaru Shamisen Kaikan, both must-visit locations in the region.

Mt. Iwaki
At 1,625 meters above sea level, Mt. Iwaki is the highest mountain in the prefecture. Mt. Iwaki has a long history as an object of worship in the region, close to the heart for the people of Tsugaru. The area is accessible for mountain climbing and camping.

Rafting
This one-hour rafting tour down the Iwaki River is a great way to explore the river which originates in the Shirakami Mountains. The maximum capacity of the raft is seven people. Paddle together with others on board and enjoy the splash in the water.

Nishimeya Dam Lake Tour
Starting your tour at the Roadside Station, drive through the village, and splash into the reservoir lake “Tsugaru Shirakamiko Lake”! There are no windows on the open-air vehicle, so it’s an exciting experience, but beware of the splashes!
