The campground is located on the lakeside of Ashino Park, which is famous for its cherry blossoms. The lakeshore, the suspension bridge, and the floating bridge all create a serene atmosphere. Nearby are the Dazai Osamu Memorial Hall “Shayokan” and Tsugaru Shamisen Kaikan, both must-visit locations in the region.

At 1,625 meters above sea level, Mt. Iwaki is the highest mountain in the prefecture. Mt. Iwaki has a long history as an object of worship in the region, close to the heart for the people of Tsugaru. The area is accessible for mountain climbing and camping.

This is a popular spot for wakasagi (Japanese smelt) fishing.

Aomori Spring Ski Resort is located on the northern slope of Mt. Iwaki, offering a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan and the Tsugaru Plain. The resort features a wide variety of courses, including beginner courses that take you leisurely through beech forests as well as steep slopes of up to 30-degree incline.

The resort features slopes from family-friendly beginner courses to advanced courses! There are rentals available so you can enjoy the slopes without hassle.

Aomori Spring Golf Club is an established club where regular men’s tournaments have been held.
The course is strategically located at the foot of the majestic Mt. Iwaki, and offers an exceptional view of the Sea of Japan and the Tsugaru Plain.

Located at the top of a mountain, it offers outstanding scenery and it is a wonderful summer retreat. The up-and-down course is enjoyable for both beginners and advanced players.

SUP (stand-up paddle) can be enjoyed anywhere there is a body of water, be it a river, a lake, or the ocean. Paddling from river to ocean or doing yoga for core training, there are many ways to enjoy SUP.

Summer only! With the Shirakami Mountains as a backdrop, tour the Juniko Lake coast to Moriyama beach featuring huge and oddly shaped rocks, and caves.

Enjoy canoeing on the waters of Okawa River, Anmon River and Lake Tsugaru Shirakamiko. Whether it is tea time on the shore or have a splash in the river in the hot season, there are many ways to enjoy this area.

This one-hour rafting tour down the Iwaki River is a great way to explore the river which originates in the Shirakami Mountains. The maximum capacity of the raft is seven people. Paddle together with others on board and enjoy the splash in the water.

Starting your tour at the Roadside Station, drive through the village, and splash into the reservoir lake “Tsugaru Shirakamiko Lake”! There are no windows on the open-air vehicle, so it’s an exciting experience, but beware of the splashes!
